Happy Birthday America

The United States Declaration of Independence is an act of the Second Continental Congress, adopted on July 4, 1776, which declared that the Thirteen Colonies in North America were "Free and Independent States"

The Declaration is considered to be the founding document of the United States of America, where July 4 is celebrated as Independence Day and the nation's birthday.

If you have an American flag, fly it proudly from your patio or balcony in celebration of the 232nd birthday of our great nation.

PARKWOOD CREEK UDATES

The new Parkwood Creek sign was placed on the fence just east of the gate last month.  Various repairs continue throughout the property, including the pool.  The lawsuit settlement agreement is waiting for a court date so we can hopefully finish the roof and chimney repairs we began in March.  Railings and steps were replaced and the sprinkler system was checked and repaired.  If you notice a broken sprinkler head that is gushing water, please notify management or a board member so we can get it fixed as soon as possible. The repairman found two broken heads where water was shooting as high as the roof when the sprinklers were turned on and no one reported them.  This is a waste of water and it causes our water bill to skyrocket.

Pestworks has sprayed for wasps and ants and will continue to treat the entire property every other month per our contract.  If you have an insect problem inside your unit, you may schedule an appointment at a discounted price when they do their routine treatments.

PORTER

Beginning July 1st Cindy Haston will be our new Porter.  Cindy will be keeping PWC free of debris and changing light bulbs.  Please help Cindy keep your area clean by depositing bottles, cans and fast food containers in the dumpster.  If you need to have a light bulb replaced, please email Cindy at ThePorter43@aol.com .

INDIVIDUAL UNIT RENOVATIONS

Many of you are renovating and upgrading the inside of your units.  If you are doing extensive renovations that requires loud noise, please be considerate of your neighbors and schedule your work to be done weekdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.  Give neighbors that will be directly affected by the noise the courtesy of informing them in advance of your plans.  Also, be mindful of the governing documents which do not permit alterations in the common areas.  If you are replacing doors and/or windows they must conform to the existing types to insure continuity throughout the complex.

Several notices have been issued to those units without screens or that have screens in poor repair.  To avoid fines, please replace, repair or install the proper screens on your unit.

UPSTAIRS UNITS: Please empty the pans beneath your AC unit and insure the drains are not clogged to avoid water damage in the unit below yours.

 BOARD MEETING

The board meeting in July will be held on Tuesday, July 8th at 7:30 p.m., Denney’s Restaurant, Midpark & 75.  All owners are invited. If you are interested in how the board spends your money, the decision making process and how repairs are prioritized and monitored, please attend.

HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
